Who had the best Halloween costume of 2024?
Heidi Klum continues to be the Queen of Halloween, wowing everyone as “E.T.” at her star-studded Halloween Party Thursday night (Oct. 31, 2024) at the Hard Rock Hotel in New York City. Klum’s husband Tom Kaulitz dressed as the titular alien from Steven Spielberg’s 1982 movie “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial,” while the supermodel portrayed “Mrs. E.T.” with animatronic eyes, a long neck and blonde wig.
Other celebrity costumes at Klum’s event included The Roots’ Questlove as the Mad Hatter, Kelsea Ballerini as Sandy from “Grease,” Charli D’Amelio as “Black Swan,” and Bethenny Frankel as Wonder Woman. Buffalo’s Jason Tartick, best known for “The Bachelorette,” dressed up as Disney’s “Aladdin.”
But Klum wasn’t the only one who dressed up as the lovable alien from “E.T.” Grammy-winning singer Janelle Monáe also dressed up as the iconic character, complete with a yellow index finger to represent the creature’s glowing powers, as she hosted her own Halloween party in Los Angeles.
“The Little Mermaid” star Halle Bailey also had fun with fans who confuse her name with Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry, dressing up as multiple Halle Berry characters, including “Catwoman,” the orange bikini-clad Bond girl Jinx from “Die Another Day,” and Miss Stone from “The Flintstones.”
Other popular celebrity Halloween costumes this year included Jennifer Garner as her “13 Going on 30″ character, Sabrina Carpenter as a Playboy Bunny, Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner as Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie from “The Simple Life,” Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker as “The Addams Family,” Gwen Stefani as Snow White, Kim Kardashian as an Albino Alligator, Emily Ratajkowski as Jennifer Lopez’s green Versace dress from the Grammys, Kylie Jenner as Demi Moore’s “Striptease,” Ed Sheeran as a monkey, Macaulay Culkin as NFL star Joe Burrow, Saweetie as The Joker from “The Dark Knight,” Jonathan Scott as Wolverine, and La La Anthony as Lady Deadpool.
And of course, due credit has to be given to the cast of the “Today” show, who threw it back with movie-inspired costumes like SUNY Oswego alum Al Roker as “Beetlejuice,” Dylan Dreyer as Lydia Deetz, Carson Daly as “Austin Powers,” Willie Geist as Ron Burgundy from “Anchorman,” Peter Alexander as “Mrs. Doubtfire,” Craig Melvin as Axel Foley from “Beverly Hills Cop,” and Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager as Jack and Rose from “Titanic.” Savannah Guthrie also impressed as Elle Woods from “Legally Blonde” with surprise guest Luke Wilson, who reprised his Emmett character from the 2001 movie and its sequels.
“Ha ha, it’s showtime!” Roker said as the Michael Keaton character. “Let’s turn on the juice and see what cuts loose, I’m the ghost with the most!”
